Practical Commercial Brewing Course (GCB) (5 Days)

During this 5 day intentsive course you will cover all the practical & theoretical elements of the brewing process which will enable you to go on and sit the General Certificate in Brewing (GCB) exam.
The GCB is an internationally recognised brewing qualification provided through the Institute of Brewing & Distilling (IBD) (please note an additional fee is required to be paid direct to the IBD to sit this optional exam).
The main focus of this brewing course is commercial brewing with the Microbrewery sector. Over the 5 days you will be taught by over 10 industry experts many of them who have set up and run their own microbrewery. During the course we will go out to a microbrewery and follow a brewday with a brewer to observe the brewing process in detail.During the 5 days we will be brewing on our 20 litre Spiedel Braumeister development kit to test and observe close up the outcomes of the brewing process.
In addition to the class based elements there will be a number of visits to microbreweries in the Peak District & Sheffield with opportunities to talk to and share ideas with fellow brewers about creating beers and the brewing process.

The course will take place at Hartingtons School of Food in Bakewell along with various visits to microbreweries within Derbyshire & the Peak District.
Accommodation is available for the course on a sharing or sole occupancy basis in Bagshaw Hall located in Bakewell (5 minute walk from teaching venue) on a self catering basis.
