Have you ever had an ambition to set up your own craft distillery distilling your own gin for instance but didn't know how to go about it or wether it was going to be feasibe?  This is the distilling course for you. 

On this one day course we look at all the things that you need to consider to set up your own craft distilling business with expert craft distiller Jamie Baxter who has a long association with a number of leading gin brands such as Burleighs Gin.  Jamie has recently turned his hand to setting up his own distillery in Manchester to develop his own gin brand.  He is also one of the UK's largest designer and installer of craft distilleries having installed over 5% of the 300+ distilleries in the UK over the last 5 years.  Thanks to the boom in gin brands HMRC figures revealed that 49 new distilleries opened in the UK in 2017 and there seems no let up in demand for new flavours and craft spirits. 

On the one day course we take you through:

What type of distilling - are you looking at basic rectification or full on grain distilling. What are the implications for your business model?

Premises for your craft distilling business - we look at the ideal presmises for a craft distilling premises along with the size requirements and essential requirements

Design and construction of your craft distillery - Jamie Baxter having built and installed over 5% of the craft distilleries in the UK over the last 5 years will outline the essential elements to the design and construction of your craft distillery.

Costs of builiding - what are the costs of building your own bespoke craft distillery as aposed to an off the shelf system.  Do you go for show stopping good looks (i.e. traditional copper still) or a more modern functional but less asthetically pleasing unit. 

Current opportunities for craft distilling - we look at the current craft distilling trends along with whether the explosion in gin manufacturers has reach saturation. 

Funding for your craft distillery - we look at the opportunities for drawing in external funding to finance your craft distilling business using traditional bank finance or crowdfunding as a posed to using your own funds.

Marketing your craft distilling business - Using examples from experts we explore how you can turbo charge your distilling business and sales through traditional means and by using social media with industry experts.

This one day course will give you all the essential insights into setting up your own craft distillery and craft drinks business and can be combined with the 4 day Distilling Fundamentals Course.
