This is a one day Beer Brewing Masterclass looking at all the essentials of getting the most out of brewing with hops.

Latest Development in Hop Varieties and Styles

We start the day with hops industry experts and the UK\s leading hops merchant Charles Faram looking at the latest developments in the world of hop varieties to see how these can enhance and influence your craft beer styles.

Hop Chemistry & Compounds

We move on to drill down into looking at with Dr Daniel Allword looking at the chemistry of hop based compounds and look at the complex compounds contained within hop oils and how they perform in the brewing process.

'Hop Creep'

In the morning we round up the session with Rafik Abidi looking at the topic of ‘Hop Creep’.  This is an increasingly important topic for brewers and microbreweies utilizing dry hopping in the production of their beers.

Dry Hopping Techniques in Brewing

In the Afternoon Master Brewer, Head Brewer at Triple Point Brewery and winner of multiple awards for his beer Alex Barlow looks at dry hopping techniques in the brewing process.  This is followed by an examination of how hop utilzation rates effects the quality and cost effectiveness of their beers.

We briefly explore the pros and cons of using a hop rocket system in your brewery.

The course will include comprehensive notes on all the topic covered.

A gourmet lunch will be included in a local pub or restaurant or if Covid conditions require the food will be brought in to be served at your socially distanced workstation.
